A restful weekend (i.e. no work and plenty power yoga) brought out the gypsy soul in me and what better way to do that than wear GYPSY SOUL DESIGNS! I just love the fabric and this kimono is so versatile.

I’t’s been a busy busy week, so I’m posting my Tuesday’s ensemble a little late. Here it is…TA DAAA!
Clearly, I’m taking advantage of the polka dot trend this season. It’s such a classic print that you can wip out at any time of the year and any season. I especially love this print on these wide leg culotte pants that I bought from Jennyfleur Loves – the fabric moves so beautifully and gives my outfit a boho chic feel.
Here’s a fab little “did you know” for you…
Culottes describes a split or divided skirt or any garment which “hangs like a skirt, but is actually pants. During the Victorian Era (mid- to late-nineteenth century) long split skirts were developed for horseback riding so that women could sit astride a man’s saddle rather than riding side saddle. The term “culottes” was co-opted from the original French definition of the word to describe these split riding skirts. Later, split skirts were developed to provide women more freedom to do activities such as gardening, cleaning, bike riding, etc. and still look like one is wearing a skirt.
Well I can tell you now, I shan’t be wearing these to do any cleaning in – except some unintentional floor sweeping perhaps ;o)
