Fashions Fade, Style Is Eternal

Prophetik – Vancouver Eco Fashion Week

In Uncategorized on March 2, 2011 at 7:46 am

Another evening of great runway by Prophetik last Friday to finish off Vancouver’s Eco Fashion Week.  Prophetik’s ‘Artist Wonderment’ line was inspired by the court of Louis XV, which was evident in the 0ff-white, black, plum, violet, deep scarlet, chainmail and burgundy colours.  The collection featured ripped silks, floor-length hemp skirts and jackets crafted from quilted bedspreads (handed down from Jeff Garner’s grandmother, Lola, in Tennessee).

Fantastic local Vancouver band, Viper Central set the mood and added drama to the show.

The gorgeous, Genevieve Duthe and I in front row seats!

Prophetik’s mission is to bring awareness to the principles of how clothing is produced, dyed and distributed and the effects of these processes on the the planet.
