Fashions Fade, Style Is Eternal

My Saturday at Portobello Market

In Uncategorized on October 17, 2010 at 8:09 pm

I love Portobello Market, so full of diversity in clothing, people and food.  I could stay out all day and if it wasn’t for the setting sun I probably would  never return home.  The market is also a haven for vintage clothing from furs to silk scarves and leather boots.

A few of my favorite stands I stumbled upon…

Mu Du

Gorgeous fur hats, turban hats with stunning brooches, teeny tiny teacup and teapot pendant necklaces and fab hand-made neck bows (by Anna Pavlou pictured below) that fasten easily at the back with an adjustable clasp.  Visit her store in Portobello Market or contact her through her web page link below:

Lulu London

Bang on trend, Lulu London’s collection consisted of stunning cape ponchos with cute neck bow fastenings that come in camel, olive-green and blue/orange/white check pattern, which designer Sylvie Plohby modelled herself.  For more lovely items, visit Lulu London at:

Never Fully Dressed

It was impossible not to be drawn into this stand filled with soft sheer fabrics, lace, pearls and cute dainty buttons.  Floaty sheer blouses and feminine little slip dresses in shades of nude, oyster and black with pearl cuffs and collars, satin and lace gloves – if you want to add a bit of girly luxury to your wardrobe, visit Never Fully Dressed at:

Ducie

Finally, a store with bold and beautiful colours, not shying away from the winter greys!  Ducie’s beautifully made pieces made from Grecian silk and cotton, all detailed with ornate gold and crystal buttons are stunning.  My favourite piece, the cute silk jumpsuit held by Ducie herself below, is definitely on my wish list – Santa did you hear that!

Minklez Cupcakes

And finally, who can resist a pretty pink box full of Deeeelicious cupcakes made with love by the two lovely ladies below.  As cheap as chips and so yummy, in fact, I think I fancy one with a cuppa tea right now!
