Diana Vreeland’s Wardrobe Up For Auction

A close friend of Diana Vreeland (who had inherited some of the clothes after her death in 1989) has donated the former legendary US Vogue editor’s clothing to Kerry Taylor Auctions, which will be up for auction on June 25, 2013.  One of my icon’s (since watching Diana Vreeland: The Eye Must Travel), Vreeland was known for her impecable taste, classic and effortless style.   Among her most stylish and sought after wardrobe, there will also be personal items such as a chair she used in her office at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute, with the signature DV emblazoned across the back in bright red.

Oh if I could be a fly on the wall next Tuesday!

Isabel Marant brings her French touch to H&M

H&M announced its autumn collaboration with Parisian designer Isabel Marant where she will create a wardrobe of must-have pieces inspired by her signature style. 

Available from November 14, 2013, in around 250 stores worldwide and online, the collection will feature clothing and accessories for women and teenagers and for the first time, a collection for men.

“I am flattered by this collaboration: H&M works with the best designers and this invitation is an exciting honour. I aim at creating something real, that women want to wear in their everyday lives, with a certain carelessness, which I think is very Parisian: you dress up, but do not pay too much attention and still look sexy. The collection is infused with this kind of easiness and attitude. Everything can be mixed following one’s own instincts: my take on fashion is all about personality” says Isabel Marant.

Cameron Silver Book Signing at Blubird!

Eeek – too much excitement!

 Cameron Silver will be doing a book signing (Decades: A Century of Fashion) at Blubird this Thursday :o)

For those of you that aren’t familiar with him, Cameron Silver is celebrity stylist and a fashion historian who founded Decades, a vintage couture boutique in LA .   He’s been named one of Time Magazine’s  “25 Most Influential Names and Faces in Fashion” in 2002, he is frequently showcased in the most prominent fashion talk shows as well as in national and international magazines.
